Why MK chose this piece: very drawn to the organic, sculptural shape of gourds; versatile subject matter whose feel can change for any interior depending on frame choice; original frames with black velvet detail (unusual!); Ray Harm was an extremely popular wildlife artist in the midcentury who was known for his bird prints and for being the first artist to market “limited edition prints” as a way of extending the life and profit of original works.

Both prints are signed. The Red-Winged Blackbird print is copyrighted 1967 and is listed “From the Private Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Douthit Jr.”
